Frequently Asked Questions For Event Organisers

The following will hopefully answer your questions about this service and you are using it as an Event Organiser. However if you find that you do not get the answer you are looking for then please get in contact via our contact form.

What is the purpose of the website?

The website / directory was developed to make it easier for runners to find running events in the UK. This is hopefully achieved by allowing event organisers the ability to add all of their events free of charge. The aim is for this site is to be as accessible as possible for its users and this will be achieved by ensuring that it will:

  • ALWAYS BE FREE for Event Organisers to add an event.
  • ALWAYS BE FREE for the public to use the website to find running events.

Adding your events to our website is quick and easy and helps you to promote your events so that you can maximise and grow them. Adding events is free and it only takes a few minutes of your time to add your events so it is a win-win situation! Our site will help you grow your Running Events organisation by helping you spread the word to those who would probably enter your events but have never heard of them.

Everyone knows the saying ‘Out of sight, out of mind’, well we can help you be ‘In sight and in mind’.

Absolutely, it doesn’t matter how you manage your entries you can add your events here.

Our service’s aim is to make all possible events known to runners so quite simply, if you arrange a running event in the UK then you can add it.

Firstly we are very happy that you love what we do and there are several ways you can support us which are:

  • Follow us on social media – all of our links are in the website footer.
  • Like and share our content on social media – help spread the word about our service.  The more runners that know about and use our service the better it gets for all of you event organisers as your events can be seen by more people.
  • Share specific event pages and blog posts – our event pages and blogs contain links to easily share specific events and blogs with runners.
  • Link your website to our website – if you have a blog or any other website add a link to our website.
  • Report issues – If you experience an issue with our service, let us know so that we can fix it and improve our service to you.
  • Buy me a coffee – If you appreciate this free service then why not ‘buy me a coffee‘ so that we can ensure the hamsters keep on running. You can find the link to this in the footer of the website on all pages.

Yes, walking events are fine to add as many runners will enter long distance walking events and walk and/or run them.

However, just to be clear to the people searching for events you should state in the event details section if this is a ‘walking event only’ and no runners are allowed.

Even if no runners are allowed you can still add a walking event to this site.

Unfortunately, you can’t just yet as adding virtual races is not yet an option for the Event Organisers but this functionality will come in the near future.

Yes, Duathlon and Triathlon events are fine to add as there is a an element of ‘running’ involved. However, just to be clear to the people searching for events you should state in the event details section that this event is not just a running event but also involves ‘other’ disciplines.

It depends.  If your event is an event with a specific date like most races etc then yes you can however, if it is an event very much in the style of The Bob Graham Round or The McWilliams Round which are personal challenges which can be done at any time of the year then no you can’t add them yourself.

However, that does not mean you cannot add them, simply get in touch letting us know all of the details of the round and we will add this to our ‘Rounds & Challenges’ page and share it on social media.

You can find the current challenges and rounds by visiting our Challenges & Rounds page.

No,  the events you add can only be your events as we don’t want duplication of events as this would affect the quality of this running events directory service.

However, feel free to let other event organisers know about our service so that they can also add their events.

Yes, you can add these in a variety of ways.  Our service allows you to do the following:

  • Upload the following file types directly to the event page:
    • GPX (.gpx)
    • PDF (.pdf)
    • Word (.docx)
    • Images (.jpg, .jpeg, .png, .webp)

You can add up to 10 links and 10 files.

Add your event but get in touch with us so that we can remove the ‘duplicate’ event as adding events which are not your own are against our Terms & Conditions.

If you decide you no longer want to have an account then you can request for this to be deleted by getting in touch via the website contact page and then we will process your request.

However, any events associated with your account will also be deleted along with your personal data. You can always create another account in the future if you change your mind.

If your events have been removed or your account has been disabled by us then this will be due to not adhering to our Terms and Conditions. If you believe that this error is incorrect then please contact us via our contact page where we can help solve this issue for you.

Yes, this site may use both advertising and affiliate links however unlike many other websites, where you get pop-up after pop-up, we will not saturate our free service with this at the expense of our running directory being annoying to use.

Quite simply if the advertising was to affect the user experience of the website then it would not be added.  The usability of the site comes first so if you see any issues or think something is annoying get in contact and we can take a look at it.

We certainly welcome any feedback/suggestions our users give us. Whilst we may not be able to implement all feedback/suggestions we would love to hear about what does or doesn’t work on our site as well as any suggestions you may have for improving this free service. Give us feedback by getting in touch via the website contact page and we will take onboard any and all feedback sent to us.
